Reiki is a Japanese method of energy healing that promotes deep relaxation, stress relief and healing from within. Reiki Healers use the “universal life force” to clear blockages and imbalances in the body's energy systems. Anyone can learn these safe and simple techniques and then use them to enhance physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Reiki can be performed on yourself, family, friends, pets and even plants. During the first half of the training, you will learn the origins and traditions of Reiki in Japan and how it has evolved in the West.  You will then be "attuned" to the healing energy of Reiki in a sacred ceremony and take your place in the proud lineage of Reiki Masters and Healers.  Afterward, a 30-minute break will allow you to journal, grab a snack, and reflect on your experience.  In the last half of the training, you will learn how to perform Reiki with a variety of hand positions, visualization techniques, and mindful intention.  Upon completion of your training, you will be awarded your Reiki Level 1 Certificate and join the community of Reiki Healers around the world.

Jennifer Carr

Jennifer's yoga journey began in 2009 at the recommendation of her chiropractor to relieve her lower back pain. Amazed at how effective this mind/body form of exercise was, she began to add yoga to her regular fitness schedule.  Jennifer's passion for yoga blossomed from there. Several times over the years she considered becoming a yoga instructor, but life, as it often does, kept getting in the way. She finally took the plunge and graduated with her 200-hour YTT from the Pranakriya School of Yoga Healing Arts at Crofton Yoga in June, 2020.

Jennifer is also a Reiki Master/Teacher and a Past Life Regression Facilitator.  She was born in Pittsburgh, PA and grew up a short distance away in Youngstown, OH, where she received a BA in English from Youngstown State University. After moving to the DC area in 1989,

Jennifer is also a breast cancer and leukemia survivor, and credits yoga for keeping her life in balance. She is not one to "sweat the small stuff", and if you were to ask her how she maintains her calming, positive attitude, she'd tell you to "Live Like You Were Dyin'" (credit to Tim McGraw).
