Sound Bath Meditation in Crofton, MD | Gong, Crystal Bowls & Chimes
A Deeply Restorative Sound Meditation Experience at Crofton Yoga & Wellness — All Levels Welcome

You don't have to meditate. You don't have to move. You don't even have to know what a sound bath is to benefit from one.

Vibrational Bliss Sound Meditation at Crofton Yoga & Wellness is one of the most accessible wellness experiences we offer — because all you have to do is lie down, get comfortable, and let the sound work.

What Is a Sound Bath?

A sound bath is a guided meditation experience where live sound — rather than silence or spoken instruction — is used to bring the body and mind into a state of deep rest. It's called a "bath" because the sound washes over you, surrounding and immersing you completely.

At Crofton Yoga & Wellness, instructor Kathy Reid creates a live sound environment using a gong, crystal singing bowls, chimes, and a rainstick. Each instrument produces sustained tones and vibrations that interact with your nervous system in ways that are difficult to describe but immediately felt. Most people notice their body releasing tension within the first few minutes. Many describe the experience as the deepest rest they've had in years — without falling asleep.

What Happens During the Session:

You'll arrive, create a comfortable rest position on your mat — blankets and props are welcome — and settle in. Kathy will begin playing, and for the next hour your only job is to receive. The vibrations move through the room and through your body, guiding you out of the stress response that most of us spend our days locked in and into a state of natural, effortless calm.

After the sound ceases, the vibrations continue to resonate — many people report that the sense of stillness and clarity lingers well into the rest of the day.

This experience is for you if:

  • Your mind rarely stops and you struggle to truly rest
  • You've been curious about meditation but find it hard to sit still and "do it right"
  • You're dealing with stress, anxiety, or mental fatigue and want relief that doesn't require effort
  • You want to try something genuinely different in a safe, welcoming environment close to home
  • You simply want one quiet hour that belongs entirely to you

No yoga experience required. No meditation background needed. No special knowledge of sound healing necessary. If you can lie still for an hour, you can do this.
